Excellent Grass Roof



Martin Mere Wetlands Centre. I was there on Sunday for a smoothie making event. Fantastic views of Liverpool and Manchester from the hills on the west of the Pennines.

Cycling day out



A day out with Derbyshire County Council officers to complete a cycle audit of Chesterfield. The hope is that a network of linked cycle routes will come out of this.

Willow



We built a willow tunnel at Polly's school today guided by local willow man Alistair Hayhurst.

Potato Day



Chesterfields potato day run by Transition Chesterfield in a shop donated by the council for the day. very successful with several thousand tubers sold!

Heritage Open Days



We opened our home as part of Heritage Open Days last weekend. We were one of five 'eco' houses open in Chesterfield, all organised by Transition Chesterfield.

Chickens



We now have three chickens. They live in a homemade ark and have the run of the garden when we are at home.

The Inkerman Buzz


We helped organise 'The Inkerman Buzz'. An environmental event held on the field next to our house on July 18th. Photo shows a pedal powered water fountain.

Despite the weather we had a really good day lime rendering on Saturday, a group of eight (or so) of us managed to get another full coat on the outside.
